How the soil value is determined

The monetary value starts from the official standard land value (Bodenrichtwert) of the respective zone and is – where official conversion tables exist – refined via the field's soil index (Ackerzahl). The site score combines soil quality, water and climate balance, satellite productivity, workability (slope, parcel size) and constraints from protected, nitrate and peatland areas. The glossary explains the terms and methodology.
